From Vancouver, take Trans-Canada Highway 1 to BC Ferries’ Horseshoe Bay terminal. Choose the Langdale route, a 40-minute journey across Howe Sound to the Sunshine Coast. Exiting Langdale terminal, following the main traffic flow through the traffic lights and up the hill. This route will take you to Hwy 101, the north-south artery of the Sunshine Coast. You will pass through the upper portion of Gibsons, then continue toward the village of Sechelt. After exiting Sechelt, continue for approximately 19 minutes, passing by Halfmoon Bay. Now watch for the Blue & White Hwy Sign that says Rockwater Resort with an arrow indicating to turn left, this road is called Mercer., then almost immediately turn right up Ole’s Cove Road. Rockwater Resort is on the ocean at the end of Ole’s Cove Road. Total travel time from Langdale ferry terminal to Rockwater Resort is approximately 45 minutes.
This journey consists of two ferry routes: Vancouver Island to Powell River, then Saltery Bay to Earls Cove. Take BC Ferries Comox ferry to Powell River. From Powell River drive south for approximately half an hour to Saltery Bay, which is the ferry terminal serving the north end of the peninsula, Earls Cove. Exiting Earls Cove, drive south on Hwy 101 for approximately 40 minutes. Turn right onto Mercer Road and right again onto Ole’s Cove. Rockwater Resort is on the ocean at the end of Ole’s Cove Road. Take the I-5 North to the US/Canada border. Cross the border and merge onto Highway 99 then merge onto Hwy 91A North.
